Sponge Iron Plant
At around 1100 degrees Celsius, sponge iron is created by reducing iron ore to metallic iron through a reaction with carbon in the form of coal, etc. Direct reduced iron metalized iron, or hot briquetted iron, is another name for sponge iron. Sponge iron is used as a scrap substitute in induction and electric arc furnaces in the iron and steel industries. Due to a scarcity of expensive melting waste, sponge iron has become an important raw material in the production of high-quality steel. The abundance of Iron Ore reserves in India has resulted in the absorption of the renowned by the Indian industry and the usage of ore lumps and fines, resulting in India becoming the world's largest producer of sponge iron.
